Extending the last date for submission of applications by un-authorised occupants

The Government of Punjab had announced the latest policies of Rural Evacuee land and Inferior Evacuee Land on 24/1/1994 and 24/12/1993 respectively which pertain to the transfer of these lands to its unauthorized occupants on the basis of their continuous cultivating possession since Kharif 1992 and Kharif 1989 respectively upto a maximum 3 ordinary acres if the land is situated beyond 2 miles but upto 5 miles from the limits of Municipal Committee, Municipal Corporation, Notified Area Committee/ Town Area Committee and upto 5 acres if the land is situated beyond 5 miles of the existing aforesaid limits, inclusive of an occupant’s own hold if any.

            The Government have now re-considered the matter and keeping in view the fact that certain unauthorized eligible occupants could not submit their applications within the stipulated time to the respective Tehsildars and therefore, it has been decided to extend the date of inviting applications for the transfer of Rural Evacuee land and Inferior Evacuee Land in both cases from 12/8/94 and 24/3/94 respectively to 1/11/1995. The others terms and conditions for the transfer of these land shall remain the same.

          The eligible occupants of rural evacuee land and inferior evacuee land are, therefore, advised to submit their applications within the prescribed period to the respective Tehsildars of their tehsils. Time barred applications shall not be entertained/considered.
